(And from someone who hasn't read any of these books, to boot!)

The Broke and the Bookish blog recently asked people to list the ten books they've lied about. Eat, Pray, Love made several lists, everyone who mentioned it saying that the pressure to like the book when they often couldn't stand the author was intense.Enbrethilielhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03414765854670926854noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7530705972708152378.post-1461666964565538162011-05-27T10:03:31.507-06:002011-05-27T10:03:31.507-06:00Selina, I almost put Divergent on the list but am...Selina, I almost put Divergent on the list but am afraid in my current mood that i would end up unfairly judging it.

Kaye, I'm going to check out Stay and Between Two Ends but whether they are next on my list I don't know yet. Really, I do.
These past few wee...I hear your pain. Really, I do.
These past few weeks have been rough reading weeks for me. I am in some sort of mood funk with very little patience for a story to grab me. My attention span is also less than to be desired; lengthy books are not ones I am gravitating towards right now. I have actually picked up 3 books; read 50 -100 pgs and then set them down. These are books that have been on TBR list forever; I have not given up. I will pick them up again once my funk or at least my attention span is better.

For the books you listed:
I have ROOM waiting to be read. I am avoiding it because I think the theme may be a bit too deep for me right now; with my mood and all.

EAT,PRAY, AND LOVE was a fail with me several years ago. I liked the first country; Italy. After that, she lost me; to new-age type thoughts for me. I put it down, and have no desire to ever pick it back up again. blah.

I read the summary for FIRELIGHT, and that is the one I am voting for because it sounds like a fun, easy, quick read that has potential to draw me in, and captivate throughout the entire story. Who knows, may be I am wrong. But that is the one I voted for.

For me, here are the few books that have absorbed me into their pages these last few weeks. They are not deep books, but oh so much fun to read.

1. The Iron King by Julie Kagawa. I plan on posting my review for that book in the next week or two. Loved it.

2. Starcrossed by Josephine Angelini The book will be released on May 31st.

3. The Blade Itself by Joe Abercrombie The jury is still out on this one as I have just started it, but I have heard great things about this book, AND I am already on page 77 and am fully absorbed into the read AND I just started the book last night around 930pm.

4.The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss. LOVE this book, and no hardship at all reading it. You should give it a go, BUT it is vastly different than YA books. Suey loved it too. :)

Okay, enough from me. I wish loads of luck with choosing the book that can captivate you, and take away from this world into its.ibeeeghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10222760102843468991noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7530705972708152378.post-8089027292115489882011-05-27T07:34:18.868-06:002011-05-27T07:34:18.868-06:00I've only read the latter two and while I enjo...I've only read the latter two and while I enjoyed ROOM it's not really a book you can love mainly due to the topics involved. But it is worth reading.

And though so many people adored EAY PRAY LOVE...I would not recommend it to a single person and I don't say that too often. The book could have been summed up in a paragraph and I had very little empathy for the author as most of the book came off like whining to me. But, that's just me.

For books I've adored I can suggest:
A GAME OF THRONES: This entire series is fabulous and although the books are long they read very quickly as GRRM is an incredibly talented storyteller.

STAY, Deb Caletti: This book deals with bad relationships and is something you can't really love kind of like ROOM, but the writing is superb and made me want to read all of her other books. Not to mention the great characters.

BETWEEN TWO ENDS, David Ward: The first book I reviewed for my blog, a children's book but an incredibly clever one. It's an adaptation of THE ARABIAN NIGHTS and this book gets all the little touches just right.

I hope you find the right book for you and I'll make sure to pop in to see what it is. :)kaye (paper reader)https://www.blogger.com/profile/13149323197913005984noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7530705972708152378.post-66419700044856236922011-05-27T07:25:21.699-06:002011-05-27T07:25:21.699-06:00Awww I hate it when that happens!
