Today, The Broke and the Bookish asks: What are the Top Ten books you could read in a day?
I'm taking this to mean books that are short enough that's it's even possible to read them in a day and that are good enough you'd WANT to read them in a day. Either way, I decided to choose the Top Ten books that I actually did read in one day.
Alright, in reality I haven't read Black Heart yet but when I DO read it I doubt it will take more than a day. ;)
So what books could you read in a day either because they're that amazing or that short?
I haven't read any of those titles, but I do like Holly Black. kaye—the road goes ever ever on
ReplyDeleteHave you read The Curse Worker series? It's sooooo good!
DeleteOh, the Holly Black books! I need to try those on for size. And, there's that Dean Koontz book, again. Should I read that one?
ReplyDeleteHere's my TTT list for this week: My Top 10 Tuesday
Okay, that link didn't work. Here's my link: http://abnormallyparanormal.blogspot.com/2012/04/top-10-fantasy-books-to-read-in-day-ttt.html
DeleteOh, you should definitely read The Curse Workers series. If you're going to read Odd Thomas I'd read the novels not the graphic novels.
DeleteIt's such a shame more people haven't read Lisa Shanahan's book. I feel like holding a giveaway just so I can buy it for someone. I had to force myself to stop reading it so it wouldn't end!
ReplyDeleteI keep doing that with the books I'm reading now! I don't want it to end! That's a good idea with the giveaway. Maybe we should both do it. ;)
DeleteSomething Blue is an excellent choice. I preferred that one over Something Borrowed myself. And I've heard really good things about The Duff, but I haven't read it yet.
ReplyDeleteI have only read Something Blue but it was so addictive!
DeleteI KEEP meaning to get 'Speak'- I have seen so many people recommending it and talking about it yet I never seem to actually go borrow or buy it! Pure laziness! Great list!
ReplyDeleteMy TTT: http://pocketfulofbooksblogger.blogspot.co.uk/2012/04/top-ten-tuesday-books-to-read-in-day.html
I kept putting off Speak too. I'm glad I finally got to it.
DeleteThe only book I have read from your list is Speak. What book would you recommend the most?
ReplyDeleteThat's a hard request! I'd say The Curse Workers series or the Lisa Shanahan book.
DeleteI'm following you now, because half of your picks are some of my all time favorite books. LOVE Speak, LOVE the Curse Worker series (dying to read Black Heart this week). Your blog title is great too!
ReplyDeleteI'll have to check out the other books on your list, now.
Cool! It's always fun when you discover someone with the same great taste in books. I'll follow you too!
DeleteMost of these are new to me - but I love Dean Koontz and the other books. I might have to try the graphic novels too - thanks for sharing your list :-)

I've only read a few Koontz books. I LOVE the Odd Thomas series!
DeleteI need to read speak, it's been sitting on my shelves for far too long. :P
ReplyDeleteNew follower.
Here's my list;

Yeah, Speak was one I kept putting off too. I'm glad I finally picked it up. Very good!
DeleteDon't those images look nice? :) I can't believe you read some of these in one day! I'm a lot slower of a reader than you, I guess. Can't wait for Black Heart.
ReplyDeleteI'm so proud of my lined up images! ;)
DeleteSpeak was a very quick read. I haven't read any of the others yet. I did read most of the Harry Potters in one day, though.
ReplyDeleteOh, Jenni, you HAVE to read The Curse workers series at the very least. ;)
DeleteSo... have you got your hands on Black Heart yet? I hear it came out today! I looked, but the library doesn't have it being processed. :( Anyway, I took doing the list pretty much the same way, and just posted my suggestions1
ReplyDeleteI'm going to go buy it tonight! I'm so excited!!!
DeleteOh, Jenny, I shall adore your blog forever! Not only do you have Something Blue, but the fact that you have an Odd manga on your list literally makes me smile. I have the newest, House of Odd, that I'm saving for Readathon. I guess I need some Holly Black novels.
ReplyDeleteAw, thanks! You really need to try the Curse Workers series.
DeleteAmazing list! Here's my Top Ten. Would love for you to stop by.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by.
DeleteOooh. The DUFF is a good one. I read really slow so it took me longer than a day, but it was still a quick read.
ReplyDeleteI still really need to read the Curse Workers series and the Ruby Oliver series :]
Trust me, if we both liked the The Duff you'll love those other series. ;)
DeleteI like the new look!
ReplyDeleteAlso, lovely selection. I think I read SPEAK in a day too. And I need to read THE DUFF and SOMETHING BLUE. I do.
Other books I've read in a day: SWEETHEARTS, by Sara Zarr; STORY OF A GIRL, by Sara Zarr; THE TRUTH ABOUT FOREVER, by Sarah Dessen. Hmm, I'm seeing a pattern emerge.
I could read a Sarah Zarr book in a day too.
DeleteSPEAK is definitely one I read in a day. I recently read Operation Heartbreak in a day, but it was just short. I can't say it was an addictive read, although it was a good one. ME BEFORE YOU by Jojo Moyes was a one-day read, even though it's pretty thick. It was also a many-hanky book. THE RETURN OF THE SOLDIER by Rebecca West is a quickie because it's short (and very thought-provoking -- loved that one). That's all I can think of!
ReplyDeleteShort books are the best to read in a day.
DeleteThe Wizard of Oz!
ReplyDeleteUm, I watched the movie in a day. ;)
DeleteAH! Something Blue is one of my favourites! Although I didn't read it in one day, I definitely LOVED it to bits. This is a great list =). New follower!
ReplyDeleteI need to read more of Giffins books. They're very addicting!
