I have to admit that I like her earlier books more, but I'm still open to her as an author (sometimes heavier, deeper themes are what I'm in the mood for). I agree; her books aren't fluff. In fact, I would love it if the lighter books classified as chick lit were relabeled "romantic comedy" and the heavier ones just mixed in with general fiction. I've always thought separating books into chick lit or women's fiction likely limits their audience and does a disservice to the author. That's a guess, though; I don't know if there are any stats to prove whether it's a good or bad thing labeling the way they do.
