Top Ten Tuesday

Today  The Broke and the Bookish asks the question: who are your top ten biggest jerks in literature?

So here they are in no particular order.

1 The Earl of Warren from Forever by Pete Hamill.
K, so I'm just reading it now and so I'm a bit biased but this guy is such an arrogant SOB.

2 Matthew from The Year of Secret Assignments by Jaclyn Moriarty
What a creep! Seriously what's wrong with this guy?!

3 Keiro from Incarceron and Sapphique by Cathrine Fisher
OK, Actually I love this character but I'll admit he was sometimes such a jerk I wanted to slap him.

4 Damon from the Vampire Diaries L.J Smith (the books, Suey, not the tv series;) )
Well, this guy is totally misunderstood and I like him well enough to keep reading the badly edited books but sometimes I seriously have to wonder what's up with his bad attitude!

5 Willoughby from Sense and Sensibility
Yuck! This guy is a weasel!

6 Murtagh from The Inheritance Series by Christopher Paolini
K, I want to like him and I do, but he's so heartless and frustrating sometimes.

7 Draco Malfoy from Harry Potter
Another misunderstood guy, but that's no excuse for his attitude!

8 Terra's Dad from North of Beautiful by Justina Chen Headley
This one is evil through and through! I hate these types!

9 Ariel from The Chronicles of Obernewtyn by Isobelle Carmody
This guy is ending up to be one seriously messed up jerk!

10 Malik from The Chronicles of Obernewtyn by Isobelle Carmody
Betrayal, prejudice, arrogance. You name it this jerk sports it!

I'm sure I could think of ones that made me more crazy but this was actually harder than I thought it would be. That's why some of my guys aren't really too bad. Oh well, today, these are the ones that bug me.

  1. Keiro from Incarceron is a great pick! He annoyed the crap out of me. Really a jerk.

  2. Draco is definitely a jerk. He didn't make my list, though, oddly enough. Instead, I chose Percy because he throws his family under the bus to get higher up in the Ministry of Magic.

  3. Great list! I can't think of ten. I know I'll be able to when I'm not trying but it'll be too late then. I'm totally on board with Damon!

  4. I read your blog Jenny. Sigh, the only character I recognized was Draco. You forgot the prosecuting attorney from the movie we watched yesterday. My all time favorite dis like has to be the bad guy in To Kill a Mockingbird. Can't remember his name. If I don't like a character I refuse to remember his name.

  5. Ugh Willoughby and Draco are total pricks. I haven't read the others but I'm sure they are douchey as well.

  6. I liked Keiro too much to put him on my list, though I considered it. And Willoughby almost made the cut too, but I went with Wickham instead. Fun list!

  7. Confessions, I'm glad you agree. I actually wanted to like him but he did annoy the crap out of me sometimes.

Jenni Elyse, How could I forget Percy? He made me crazy!

Dana, I know, I had such a hard time, that's why half my guys I kinda liked despite their jerk like qualities. Damon is one such.

Techno Grandma, Thanks to Confessionsofacommonreader...The man you're are thinking of from To Kill A Mockingbird is Bob Ewell he made her list. I'd forgotten about him.

Reading Rachel, Yeah, most people would probably choose Wickham from P&P but Willoughby wins in my book.

Suey, I know I hesitated with Keiro but I was shaking my head at the stuff he did too much while reading so he had to go in.

  8. I had pretty much the same thoughts about Damon. What is his problem, anyway?

  9. Well I haven't read most of these books so I'll have to take your word on their jerky-ness, but from your descriptions they definitely seem to be some of the worst kinds of jerks

  13. Thanks for visiting today. Oh, yeah. Lots of jerks on that list. I would add Imogen Herondale from City of Ashes to that list. She is really making me very angry, almost as much as Valentine!
