Waiting on Wednesdays

Waiting On Wednesday, is hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine and asks the question, "What are books are you anxiously waiting on?"
Lexi is cursed with a dark secret. Each day she goes to school like a normal teenager, and each night she must swim, or the pain will be unbearable. She is a siren - a deadly mermaid destined to lure men to their watery deaths. After a terrible tragedy, Lexi shut herself off from the world, vowing to protect the ones she loves. But she soon finds herself caught between a new boy at school who may have the power to melt her icy exterior, and a handsome water spirit who says he can break Lexi's curse if she gives up everything else. Lexi is faced with the hardest decision she’s ever had to make: the life she's always longed for - or the love she can't live without? (from Goodreads)

It seems like I've been waiting for this one forever! It probably won't even hold up to my expectations but I still am excited to check it out. There's a lot of siren\mermaid YA books being published lately and though I have most of them on my TBR list I haven't read any yet so maybe I won't be bored with the subject matter before I get to this one.  I also have to add that even though I think this cover is cool the guy is YUCK!

So what are you anxiously waiting for?

  7. I forgot it was Wednesday already! This does sound intriguing, and I admit to never reading any stories about sirens (unless The Odyssey counts) so maybe this will be the first. And I love the greens on the cover.

  8. Gina, Thanks for stopping by.

Danya, Thank YOU for stopping by. =) My friend came up with the name so I can't take credit. I think it's cool too.

Scribal Goddess, You're welcome, I hope we both like it.

Sally, I know, I've been waiting forever it seems and the cover is what first drew me to it.

Kaye, Well, there are so many "siren" books to choose from these days I hope if you do read this one that it's the best.

  9. Hi, Jenny! Good to see you, as always. :) I know what you mean. I'm really excited to see the covers for Clockwork Prince and The Iron Knight! February and November are their respective release dates, so we should be seeing covers very soon! Have a good evening. :)

  12. I agree with you on the cover -- she's great, he's not!

Will look for your thoughts on this one. Mermaids seem to have replaced vampires as the new favored YA subject?

  13. Selina, Thanks for returning the favor. I hope it's a good book.

TheBookGirl, That and fairies and I think. Thanks for agreeing with me about the guy! I don't think anyone else even looked, or maybe they just thought he was cute. Yuck. ;)
