Summer, My Love\Hate Relationship

Alright this is really random but I'm having a hard summer so I'm trying to think of things I like to balance all the things I hate!

1 (Hate) I miss soccer so bad in the summer I want to scream!!!! Yeah, so every other year I get the Euro Cup or the World Cup but this is an off year and I'm losing it!
Who wouldn't miss Arbeloa's abs?!

2 (Love) Laying out by the pool reading. Especially after I've vacuumed it and cleaned all the leaves off so it's so blue and sparkly. It's one of the only things I take pleasure in. Shhh, don't tell anyone, though. ;)
Can you believe I didn't have one picture of my pool? But this depicts that blue I was talking about.

3 (Hate)  I miss all my TV series! Sure, there's a few in the summer but they're not usually that impressive.

4 (Love) All the festivals and summer celebrations are something I look forward to and enjoy.

5 (Hate) The heat!!!! OK, it's not THAT hot yet but it's very frustrating sometimes.

6 (Love) At least all that heat means no snow which is soooo much more vexing to me!

Alright I'm done venting. I just miss soccer, I start having withdrawals and watching MLS! AHHH! So what do you love and hate about Summer? Please tell me I'm not alone in this awkward relationship.

  1. I love gardening and doing the yard in the summer but am really glad when it finally gets to cold to do it. I love that it stays light for so long but I hate it when I realize my kids are going to bed at 11:00. There is more but my kids are making me put on Elmo so that's all for now.

  2. Adams Family, Yeah, I hate how early it gets light in the morning! I don't want to get up at five AM, I am NOT a farmer!!!

  3. Agreed. Except, I've always been more on the love side. I guess summer just feels like freedom to me. Too many years in school and working there too! I love the show Big Brother so that helps summer tv. Except the humbidity in VA can be killer around August.

  4. Sarah, Yes, there is something about summer that says, freedom. I was in DC a few years go in August. Oh. My. Gosh!!! I was constantly dripping! (shutter) I don't envy you.

  5. I feel your pain. Since I'm in TN, add "humidity" to my hate list. It just sucks the life right out of you. So awesome that you have a pool, though!

  6. Marla, Urgh! Yeah, Humidity is not my friend. That's one nice thing about living in UT.

  7. I used to hate the heat but, since moving back from central america, I love the heat (because it's never as hot as it was there). Wish I had a pool ...

  8. My favorite show is on during the summer--White Collar. Although, I do miss my other shows. I also hate the heat; I wish our weather was more temperate.

  9. Dana, There's nothing like a little perspective to make you appreciate what you've got. I shouldn't complain. It's not THAT hot yet.

Jenni Elyse, K, I saw a preview for White Collar where he walks through a metal detector as he throws a gun around it then catches it...I don't know if that made sense but anywho, It was AWESOME!!! Now I want to check it out!

  11. I'm more on the love side, too. Especially now that our crazy weather is (kind of) calming down. :)
I love all the fresh fruit/veggies, too. I don't even garden but it seems like someone always has extra tomatoes/zucchini/something that they are trying to give away.

  12. Hey there! Stopping by from Books Most Wanted!

I'm in the same boat as you in regards to the summer tv schedule. All of my fav show won't be back until September or later. :( At least you have pool to help pass the time though. ;)

Btw, thanks for the tip about Shatner and Firelight! That relieved a lot of the teen tension from the book for me. LOL It was a good read, somewhat predictable, and I think Vanish will be better because of where the plot is heading. Happy reading, friend!

  13. It made sense. I've seen that too. I love the show! Plus, you have some dang nice eye candy for the hour!

  14. Melissa, Blick! I hate the heat but the pool helps.

Kathy, I love all the fresh fruit and veggies too. I planted cucumbers this year but they didn't sprout. I hope someone has extras for me.

Nikki, No problem, I thought you might like a laugh. ;)

Jenni Elyse, I know! I can't believe I haven't given in to that eye candy yet!
