July Wrapup

I really tried to squeeze in more books than usual this month to reach my summer reading goals but I still only managed nine. Ah well. Here they are if you're interested and if you missed any of my reviews you can click the title and read them.

Tattoo by Jennifer Lynn Barnes
A fun fast read that I'd definitely recommend.

Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater
A little too romantically gushy for me but I'll continue the series.

Middlemarch by George Eliot
Yay! I finally finished it this month! Alas, it was only so, so.

Ripple by Mandy Hubbard
>:( I want my wasted hours back!!!

I Don't Want to Kill You by Dan Wells
Ah, the glorious conflict of rooting for a sociopath!

Mercy By Rebecca Lim
Beautiful, beautiful writing with a cliffhanger ending. Beware!

Divergent by Veronica Roth
I repeat, YOU CAN NOT DODGE BULLETS!!! Argh!

Back When You Were Easier To Love By Emily Wing Smith
A surprising treat. though, whether it makes sense to a non LDS person is yet to be seen.

Warprize by Elizabeth Vaughn
A fast paced adventure with some fun, steamy, not too risque romance.

Favorites of the month...Tattoo, Back When You Were Easier to Love, I Don't Want to Kill You, and Warprize. Least favorite...Divergent. And the book voted most likely to be burned in a fit of rage...Ripple.

  1. You've had a busy reading month. Bummer. I was hoping you'd say you loved Middlemarch. It is on my list.

  2. 9 books is a lot! I can't even fathom reading 9 books in one month, summer or not.

  3. Anne, Oh, I'm sorry, It's a classic so I didn't HATE it I just didn't love it either. It's worth the read, though.

Jenni Elyse, I used to think that too but then I saw these people who were reading that many in one week! Good grief! I don't even have a life but I can't manage that many books in one week! Sheesh!

(Hey are you going to be at your mom's house tonight? Cause I'll be there with the YW class. Come say hi!)

  6. Okay, I admit, I'm giggling over your brief synopsis/feelings on the books. I don't know that that was the intended effect, but they're so perfect!

And I didn't see that you read Shiver (or did I? I have to check) so I'll give that a peek!

  7. Kaye, Yes, I meant to make you laugh. Wrap up posts are kind of boring so I have to offer some humor.
