Look What You Made Me Do!

So, when I whined about wanting to go spend tons of money on books the other day, a ton of you suggested I go to the library instead. Good advice. I hunkered down and finished one book I was struggling with and am almost done with the other and was feeling free so I headed to the library.

Nine books later! In fact, I had ten but when I got to the check out desk, ends up one was supposed to be on the hold shelf. It's probably for the best anyway. ;)

I was actually so happy with the books that were in, and think I got quite the variety. Thanks for everyone's advice and for those of you who thought I should have bought some??? Don't worry, I will. ;)

What do you think of my haul? Think I can read them all in six weeks?

From top to bottom:
Life As We Knew It by Susan Pfeffer
Georgia Nicolson 2 by Louise Rennison
The Fox Inheritance by Mary E. Pearson
Once Was Lost by Sara Zarr
Saving Francesca by Melina Marchetta
Touch of Frost by Jennifer Estep
Tempest Rising by Tracy Deeb
Happyface by Stephen Emond
Starcrossed by Elizabeth C. Bunce

Hmmm, now which one should I start with? Suggestions?

  1. So... did you go with books in mind? Or did you actually just browse and see what was there?

The books that jump out to me on your pile are The Fox Inheritance (on my shelf needing to be read) and Saving Francesa because I need to read all her books. A couple of the others I've read, and many I haven't heard of!

Here's hoping you love them all!

    1. I did go with books in mind and, of course, was disappointed. Then I browsed and walked away with way too many so it's all good. ;)

  3. This happens to me ALL the time. I've taken to requesting books and picking them up so I don't impulse check out the entire section! Can't wait to hear what you think about On the Bright Side, I'm Now the Girlfriend of A Sex God. Dave the Laugh is in that one and he's one of my all time favorite characters!

    1. I read the first Georgia Nicolson awhile ago and laughed so hard. I definitely want to read them all at some point.

  4. Ah ha ha! I love to lure folks into the library and have them return with ridiculous piles! Good luck picking one to start with :) BTW, I *finally* got your book prize mailed out yesterday. I am so lame.

    1. Well, that's one for the librarians and zero for the patron. Or is that nine for the patron? ;)

  5. Great haul! I love the library but, like you, always end up lugging a huge pile home. Have fun with those.

    1. Yeah, it's hard trying to pace yourself. Obviously I didn't really try this time.

  6. Awesome! I've only ever checked out 7 at a time and that was The Chronicles of Narnia.

If anyone can read all of those books in six weeks, you can! You read so fast. I'd only be able to get through three at the most. I can't wait to see what you think of them! :)

  7. Haha great haul. I volunteer at the library every week in the teen section and the teen librarian is always laughing at me cause each week I have a big pile of books I'm checking out. Got to love the library.

  8. Oh yay! You got Saving Francesca. Can I put pressure on you to read that first? The library is such an awesome place. Though I always end up buying copies of the books I really love anyway. Hope you enjoy all the books. I'm sure you can get through them all. Power on!

    1. Consider the pressure applied, I'm reading it now. I've already snickered several times.

  10. That looks like a great library haul! I'd start with Touch of Frost because I've heard a lot of great things about it. But, you've got some fun books, so dig in wherever. Hope you get them all read in six weeks. My library only allows check-outs for 3. Lucky you.

  11. Great haul! I love my library, but always wind up renewing most of the books because I check out too many every...single...time! Lucky you get six weeks, as I have to read mine in two! Enjoy!

    1. Two weeks?! That's not nearly enough time!

  12. That's a good pile of books :) I loved Life as We Knew It. Six weeks is plenty of time to get these books read, but if not renew them! This is what I always end up doing anyway.

    1. Oh, that six weeks IS the renewal time. I'll need that.

  13. That's an impressive bunch of books! They all sound good. I've only read two of those... Life as We Knew It made me want to buy up a bunch of canned food. :) And Happyface has pictures, so that's kind of unique. I don't think you'll have any trouble getting through them in 6 weeks.

  14. Ha! I know what Kathy means about Life as We Knew It and wanting to stock up! I enjoyed that series but felt like it was missing something. In fact, I'm pretty sure I liked the book covers better than the stories and that's why I kept reading on. Looks like a terrific pile. Happy Reading! Oh, and I should mention that sometimes I have trouble commenting on your blog. I try to come back when I do. I think it's my end, but I'm not sure.

    1. I've read far too many books based on the covers. Sometimes it turns out for the best, though. ;)

I know my blog is having issues with the comments. I've discovered it depends on the computer or browser being used. I've tried to fix it but I don't know how. :( Sorry. Thanks for commenting anyway.

  15. I love going to the library!!! Wow! You really did get some great books. I really want to read Touch of Frost, Tempest Rising, and Starcrossed. I hope you can get through them in six week, and that you enjoy all of them:)

  16. I'm glad you got so many good ones from your library! I almost always do everything through the library, and if yours has a good interlibrary-loan program, then you should be able to get just about anything. In fact, I rarely let myself just browse anymore, because I know I'll do what you did and bring home about twice as many as I planned on! Have fun readin gthem all :)

    1. Yes, I shouldn't have browsed the WHOLE YA section, maybe just half. ;)

  17. Ha! I generally have this problem with the library too. Except that my local library is so small now, sometimes I have a hard time finding anything I want.

Your stack looks delightful though. I look forward to the reviews. Also, Suey said that you liked PRECIOUS BANE. I hope you review that soon too.
