Sunday Salon

Welcome to the new Sunday Salon. A weekly update post about my boring life. ;)

Weather Small Talk: Warm, warm, warm! Perfect laying out weather. I already have the beginnings of a tan. Don't judge! ;)

Music Discoveries: K, I discovered Tongue Tied by Grouplove awhile ago but was hesitant to share. I know some people might be weirded out but I love this song. I love the carnival/roller coaster feel.

On The Idiot Box: A lot less TV watching goes on in the summer but there are a few shows I enjoy. MTV's Teen Wolf is all sorts of awesome. I love USA's Burn Notice, Suits, and Covert Affairs, though the latter hasn't started yet. TNT's Falling Skies starts tonight and I'm sooooo excited!

Weekly Reads: I finished The Color of Evil that I'm reading for a blog tour. It was suspenseful. I'm working on Bad Kitty and just started Endure, the last of the Need series. It HAD BETTER end well! Just sayin'.

Crazy Kitty: Either I'm freezing and she's comfortable or I'm comfortable and she's hot. Sigh!

This Week: I got to go to the Fierce Reads at my local library and meet some awesome authors. I do such horrible recaps that I didn't bother but Suey, Kathy, and Lorren all did some lovely recaps you can check out.

Movie of the Week: Wow, let's see, since I last posted about movies I've seen The Avengers, MIB3, Madagascar 3 and Snow White And The Huntsman....I'm thinking I'll do a mini review post on them rather than go on and on here.

Food Talk: Ugh, no recipes to share today. I've cut dairy out for the month and I'm about to lose it! No, not inches, my sanity! I want cheese!!!! :(

Soccer Sightings: The Euro cup is in full swing. With two games on every day at the moment I feel like all my time is consumed with soccer. I even dreamed that this handsome fellow was my brother in law...not sure what sister he was married to, though.

Plans For The Week:More Euro cup watching...obviously and book club. Yay!

  1. Ah! I've been searching for this song but I couldn't remember who it was by. Awesome. They remind me of a mix of Hot Hot Heat and Bloc Party. Love it :)

  2. I am not a sci fi person at all, but I watch Falling Skies because of Noah Wyle. Just like I watched Independance Day b/c of Will Smith. I love Suits and Covert Affairs but I lost some interest in Burn Notice last year, but this season looks good so idk.

I can't believe you gave up dairy. I could never give up dairy. I would give up all deserts before I give up dairy that's how much I need it!

    1. Yeah, sci fi isn't my favorite either but it's just so exciting. I want cheese so bad I'm about ready to lose it! Just a half a month more. I can do this. :(

  3. I do love your Sunday posts. I haven't heard of any of those TV shows, though. I'm feeling so out of it.

  4. I really like that song but I couldn't figure out who sang it. So thanks for solving the mystery! I'm off dairy right now, too. It's tough. (Jenni is, too.) We dairy-free book bloggers need to stick together, I guess. :)
I'm excited for your movie post. I want to see some of those, so hopefully you liked them.

    1. Glad I could help. We seriously need to help each other...or at least cheer each other on. This is soooo hard!

  5. I still don't have a tan yet this year, and I was in NC for a week! My bro and I just saw Avengers, and I saw Snow White a couple weeks ago, both were pretty good. :) Can't wait to see what you thought of everything!

    1. Yeah, I have to make and effort and lay out. It will be much easier when my mom gets her pool filled. ;) I hope to get some mini reviews up this week on the movies.

    1. Pretty?! What! Like not believable as normal humans surviving an alien attack?

  8. I'm so jealous of you having all the nice weather! Even though its supposed to be summer, its done nothing but rain over here in the UK. I've also been watching lots of football - it's a bit Euro-crazy over here. Come on England!

    1. Yeah, I love rain but if it's all the time I get sick of it. Enjoy the Euro craziness. I am.

  9. I'll be your sister if I can marry him. :) And I really want to see Snow White and the Huntsmen even though I've heard it's terrible.

  10. ooh, did you like Falling Skies?? I splurged and stayed up late last night so I could watch it. I LOVE that show! I have to admit I was a bit let down by his alien abduction. I just wanted more from that, you know? Although they did hint there would be more ramifications to come, but I was a tad disappointed. Second episode totally rocked, though!

    1. Agreed! The alien abduction was a huge let down. That second episode was crazy though. I just about barfed with the whole eye thing. I was squirming and screaming at that part. Can't wait for more.

  11. I'm starting to have a tan, too. It's over 30ºC here and very sunny and it is not Summer yet. There will be probably about 40º in a couple of weeks.
I've been watching a lot of football, too. Not every day, though. Only some matches.

  12. Cute soccer player but a little tame for me. It was probably Carolyn or Amy.
