My good friend Suey is having an awesome week over on her blog highlighting one of the greatest authors ever! She asked me to do a guest post about one of his lesser known books that happens to be my favorite. Go on over and check it out.
I love your site and am ecstatic to honor your hard work with the One Lovely Blog Award. My post with the details here: http://ajarndtbooks.blogspot.com/2012/10/winner-of-one-lovely-blog-award.html
Wow! Amazing post, Jenny! I would probably like that book, too. Haven't even heard of Zusak's other novels, but this one I'll pay attention to. Thanks for that. ;)
What a great post, Jenny. I've never read that book, but I know how it feels to feel like that when I've read a book. You articulated your feelings so well. If only I could explain my feelings like that. Great job!
Jenny that was soooo good! I've only read The Book Thief by him and I've never really thought about his other books but now they are definitely on my radar. Did you have to pick the third book in the series though? Cause now I have to read 2 books before I can read the one that you really loved! ;)
I admit it (as I hang my head). I am one of those people who have only read The Book Thief and I Am Messenger, but after your post I will remedy that soon.
I LOVE Markus Zusak! His writing is so imcredibly amazing. I loved The Book Thief, but I Am Messanger was definitely my fav of the two. My fav part was when they gave away free beer to get folks to go to church. I laughed so hard!
Nice.
ReplyDeleteWhy, thank you. :)
DeleteWell done, Jenny. I loved reading about your reaction to GETTING THE GIRL. I now have to read it again. And the other Wolfe books.
ReplyDeleteI should re-read The Underdog and Fighting Ruben Wolfe. It's been awhile.
DeleteAwesome! I commented about this on there too, but I love the song Killing Me Softly. :) And now you've got me interested in this book...
ReplyDeleteYou should read it! I think you'd like it.

ReplyDeleteI know you don't usually like contemporary fiction but no one can dislike Zusak!

ReplyDeleteThanks. I was worried I wasn't going to get my feelings across. :)

ReplyDeleteSorry, but you'll love the rest I bet. You won't regret reading them all.

ReplyDeleteYeah, his other books aren't as well known but they're definitely worth the read. :)

ReplyDeleteI like I am the Messenger over The Book Thief too. Getting the Girl just holds a special place in my heart.
