June Wrapup 2015

I'm a little late but here's what I read in June. Only four books but hey.

The Marbury Lens by Andrew Smith
Ugh! Too confusing. Was it reality or not? And where's the damn hope?!

Scarlet but A.C. Gaughen
With the western accent and an Edward like Robin Hood, this retelling wasn't for me.

When You Were Mine by Rebecca Serle
I actually hate Romeo and Juliet but this retelling from Rosaline's perspective was pretty good.

Elanor and Park by Rainbow Rowell
The writing was beautiful, guys but this one just didn't have enough going on and it was soooo depressing!

Favorite of the month I guess When You Were Mine. Least Favorit: The Marbury Lens.

Plan's for July.
I already survived hosting my families 4th of July pool party.

My biggest plan for this month is to get out of my reading slump and read a five star book. Can you believe I haven't read one book this year that I gave five stars to? Sigh!

  1. I can't wait for your review of Eleanor and Park! I wasn't too impressed with it myself but as always I'm in the minority. Sorry about your lousy luck with books. Hopefully it'll be better this month.

    1. Yeah, I wasn't a big fan of it myself. We are too much alike.

  2. Yay! You read as much as I did! :D I'm glad you survived the 4th! Your pictures looked fun. Kami and I want to come over and swim sometime.

  3. Ooh, I hate Romeo and Juliet too but I'm intrigued by When You Were Mine! I'll have to look it up. And sorry you're in a reading slump! I know how that feels. I haven't read many five star books this year either, only one (though I've had a lot of 4.5s). I hope you find something you love!

    1. I hope I find something I love too. I am rather stingy with my star giving but still.

  5. Four books isn't bad! I've been averaging four a month lately too, but hoping to catch up with my reading goal soon. And yay for surviving your pool party! Now you can relax for the rest of the summer. :)

    1. I hope so! I know I have a few books on my shelf that will be 5 star but I just keep putting them off. Sigh!

  7. Awww man, I hope you find a book you loooove. I've been loving everything lately, but I also didn't get a chance to read a lot for a while. REALLY loved Emmy & Oliver.

    1. Which, you totally just read my review. LOL. I also really enjoyed Dangerous Girls, wasn't perfect, but very funny!

    2. I didn't mean funny. I meant entertaining. It was not a funny kind of book. I am tired. Too many energy drinks, I think.
