30 Days of Books Days 10-13
Hi! I'm back! My husband and I are in the middle of replacing a fence in our backyard and well, that and the holiday and the weekend have me running behind. So, pardon me while I catch up.
Day 10: Favorite classic
Not only is this my favorite classic but Frankenstein is my favorite book of all time! If you want to read a post where I gush about it go here. Otherwise, just know that everything about this book touches my soul.
Day 11: A book you hated
I had such high expectations for this one and I truly loathed it. It was the biggest dissapointment. The MC acts like she's bipolar. Someone dies and the couple just shrug and start making out! Ugh! I hated this one.
Day 12: A book you used to love but don’t anymore
Now, Suey is going to give me a hard time because we had a Book Banter about this one. I adored this book the first time around and upon a reread I still liked it but it lost a bit of it's power over me.
Day 13: Your favorite writer
This is a cruel, cruel question. I have many favorite authors but if I had to choose based on stories and actual GOOD, BEAUTIFUL writing, I'd go with Markus. The man can write!
I'd probably include THE DUFF in a list of books I hated. I've never read RIPPLE and it's been a long time since I read FRANKENSTEIN. Probably due for a re-read on that one.
ReplyDeleteYes, reread time!
DeleteI knew Frankenstein would be on your list. But, I didn't expect The Duff to be. I'm sorry it lost its power over you. :( And, yeah, the author prompt is cruel. I could choose a bajillion too. Good choice with Zusak. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks. I thought he deserved some love.
DeleteI don't think I have ever read FRANKENSTEIN. Must remedy that!
ReplyDeleteOh, you have to. It's beautiful!
DeleteThat book had POWER over you? Lol! I'm kinda glad it has lossed some anyway... :) Markus will be featured on my blog in coming days... again... as you probably guessed.
ReplyDeleteI assumed he would pop up.
DeleteI've never read The Duff or Ripple so can't comment on them, but I do love Frankenstein. I really need to re-read it sometime. It's a great book.
ReplyDeleteIt's so good! I love reteading it. Never gets old.
DeleteYou love Frankenstein, too? I'm so shocked someone else loves that book! It's one of my favorite classics of all time! I'm going to read your gushing over it.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it great! I love it soooo much!
DeleteI had to DNF The Duff. I'm not sure what it was about it that I didn't like but I just couldn't continue with it.
ReplyDeleteI loved it the first time round. Not sure what happened.
DeleteOooh, I love Frankenstein too. I haven't read the other books, but maybe that's just as well since they don't seem to have captured your fancy. :)
ReplyDeleteExactly.
DeleteI have to agree with you about Zusak. Aside from being a fabulous writer, he is also kind and generous and just plain fantastic. And yay for Frankenstein! I love going back to the classics.
ReplyDeleteOh, yes! He's so charismatic.
DeleteI LOVE FRANKENSTEIN TOO!!!! It is such an amazing and moving story. LOVE LOVE LOVE! Way better than Dracula!
ReplyDeleteZusak is a beautiful writer. I don't anyone can compare with his way with words.
I saw The Duff movie, and I was. . .ugh! It wasn't good.
Wow we agree on these?! That doesn't happen often.
