December Wrapup 2012

Considering the lull I've been in and the holidays, I'm impressed I managed a whole four books in December.  Anywho, here they are.

Shut Out by Kody Kelpinger
Oh, how I love the steamy kissy scenes.

Pushing the Limits by Katie McGarry
A little too long for a YA contemporary and what's with him calling her babe? Ugh!

Unwind by Neal Shusterman
I really was expecting a more fast paced story but all in all, I liked it.

The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne
Why, when I wasn't forced to read in high school, did I feel the need to torture myself now? Sigh!

Favorite of the month was Shut Out least favorite was The Scarlet Letter. Here's hoping for more books read in January.

  1. I've always thought I might try reading The Scarlet Letter because people always rave about it but I've noticed that I haven't been reading classics for a reason! Four books is a great amount. I think I've read one :(

  2. I remember, as a teen, really like The Scarlet Letter because even then I loved the whole tortured character thing.

    1. If only it had been another less annoying nick name.

  5. I liked The Duff, but I'm not sure I like the premise of Shut Out for a YA book. I'll probably read it though because I didn't expect to like The Duff as much as I did.

Is it weird that I don't remember him calling her babe all the time in Pushing the Limits? The nickname babe doesn't really bother me that much though, so maybe that's why. Although pumpkin butt is my favorite endearment next to studmuffin.

I haven't read any Neal Shusterman but I want to! And I read Scarlet Letter in high school but it's probably time for re-read!

    1. Shut Out was much tamer than The DUFF. I love the nick name studmuffin. :-)

  10. Eep, I read the Scarlet Letter in HS and I never felt compelled to read it again. I know it's a classic, but it didn't do it for me.
