Sunday Salon

Welcome to the new Sunday Salon. A weekly update post about my boring life. ;)

Weather Small Talk: It's been lovely this week. Spring is in the air, of course that means allergies.

Music Discoveries: Apparently this song, How It Starts by The Features, was played on an episode of The Vampire Diaries but I discovered it from...you guessed it, a TV commercial! I'm loving it.

On The Idiot Box: This week I'm crushing on Being Human. Not the bad SyFy version but the BBC version. See, I watched the first season but missed the next two. I've started watching this season because all the characters changed but one and so it's basically a new show. I'm LOVING it! Hal cracks me up and Tom is so hilarious. If you haven't watched this show I'd highly recommend it!

Weekly Reads: I'm savoring The Minority Council the 4th Matthew Swift novel. You know, the series I'm always talking about. Sigh! I'm thoroughly enjoying it!

Crazy Kitty: Anyone know what to do about cat dandruff? My cat is suffering from a serious problem. I've tried everything.

This Week: I've been joining in on Bloggiesta and have made a few changes to "better" my blog. What do you think? Today I shall be trying to organize Google Reader.

Movie of the Week: I saw both John Carter (boring, and the girl drove me nuts!) and The Hunger Games.  I enjoyed The Hunger Games. I didn't remember enough about the book to be too picky. ;)

Food Talk: I made a delicious cheddar broccoli chowder. It's soooo good. I'm far too lazy to get up at the moment and post the recipe but if you'd like it let me know in the comments and I'll email it to you.

Soccer Sightings: Remember when I talked about Ronaldo's vanity? Yeah, you didn't believe me did you? Check it.

Plans For The Week: I'm thinking of starting some yard work...maybe.

  1. I went and saw The Hunger Games today and really enjoyed it! Like you, I couldn't remember all the details of the book so I didn't spend to much time worrying over what they had changed/missed out.

  2. I think it's always best to be a bit hazy on the book details when you see a film...like you said it prevents being too picky. NO idea on the cat dandruff issue sorry...sounds bad though. It's really embarrassing but I've never seen Being Human. I really should because a) I am British and b) I love supernatural tv shows....maybe I'll start watching it.

  6. I saw a thing on yahoo about that soccer player and my first thought was "I wonder if that's one of Jenny's soccer guys." :)
Your blog looks nice! I sort of failed at bloggiesta this weekend, but oh well. It was fun to work on a couple things.

  8. Dave and I actually went out on a date which we haven't been able to do in months and saw Hunger Games too. We loved it! I think they did a great job adapting it for screen!

    1. They really did do a good job. I was afraid they were going to ruin it.
