30 Days of Books Days Day 15 & 16
I've totally lost track of where I'm supposed to be on this but since everyone participating is all over the place I've decided not to feel bad. Day 15 and 16 had similar prompts so I've decided to put them together.
Day 15: Favorite male character
I tried! I really tried to pick just one of these three but I can't! Left to right: Cassel from the Curse workers series. Love this kid! He's smart, kind and wickedly cool! Matthew Swift from the Matthew Swift series. I think I love what he's possessed with more than him but, no, that's not true. The way he handles it is all him! Love it! Odd Thomas from the Odd Thomas series. Odd is the most humble, sweet, tries-to-do-the-right-thing guy, you'll ever meet. I love this kid!
Day 16: Favorite female character
This was a hard one. Not because I had so many to choose from, though. I actually can pick out a hundred more male characters I love but female characters...I have a hard time with. I won't go into detail on why (post for another day, perhaps?) but I do admire Anne Elliot from Persuasion. Yes, once, when she was younger she let her family and friends influence her but she amends that. She's kind, humble, responsible and patient and I look up to her, I really do!
hm, I am not at these prompts yet but I wonder if it will be the same for me on the gender...
ReplyDeleteI'll be interested to see.
DeleteOdd Thomas, this is a character I have wanted to read for awhile, forgot actually.
ReplyDeleteI love him. You'll have to read them.
DeleteYeah, don't feel bad. I'm glad that people are participating even if we're not all on the same prompts. :)
ReplyDeleteAnd, since I have my posts scheduled through day 26, I had a hard time picking a favorite female character too. It was much easier to pick a favorite male.
Weird isn't it? I wonder why that is.
DeleteI like Anne Elliot, too. I'm glad she got her happy ending.
ReplyDeleteMe too!
DeleteOne of these days I really should go and read some Holly Black. I've heard so many good things about her.
ReplyDeleteHonestly I've only liked the Curse Workers series so far.
DeleteOdd Thomas is definitely a unique character. I've still only read the first book in the series -- I need to move on with it. I've never read PERSUASION. One of these days!
ReplyDeleteI hope you finish the Odd Thomas series. And Persuasion!
DeleteI hate to admit I haven't read any of these. You have me curious, though!
ReplyDeleteYou should read The Curse Workers series. I think you'd like it.
DeleteKudos for narrowing your characters down to favorites. This would be SO hard! I don't think I could pick.
ReplyDeleteLove your choices! I guess I should figure out mine and post soon...
ReplyDeleteI like these lists. Now you have me thinking. I think my favorite female character is Lisbeth Salendar from The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. I think my favorite male character is Jack Reacher. Thanks for giving me something to think about :)
ReplyDeleteThis is one of Austen's work that I haven't read but I should definitely add to my TBR. I think my favorite female character is Hermione.
ReplyDeleteOdd Thomas is one of my all time favorite book characters ever, so I totally agree with you on that!
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure who my favorite female character is... I guess Karou from Daughter of Smoke and Bones series, or any of the female characters in The Night Circus. ;)
I NEED to read Persuasion!! Maybe I should make that my summer classic read. Favorite male character? Jamie Fraser from Outlander. Mmmmm. :)
ReplyDeleteAnne Elliot is awesome. The end.
