New Year, New Review Format
I've been struggling with my book review format for a while now. I'm bored with it. I get bored easily. Sigh! Any way, I figured with it being a new year and all, I'd change my format. But to what? I couldn't decide. Sometimes I just have random thoughts about books and no over arching feeling. I love the way Kami and Kimberly do their reviews. They both just sort of bullet point some thoughts they had while reading the book. I thought I'd steal their format, change it up a bit and try it out for the year. You'll have to tell me what you think. Have a Happy New Year!

Changing the format to make reviewing more fun is definitely the right thing to do! Part of the reason I do the Short and Tweet reviews is because I don't always want to do a lengthy review, I just want to say yes, no, kind of I liked a book. I can't wait to see what you come up with- but don't be afraid to change it up as much as you want!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I'm excited to see how it goes.
DeleteI want to change too and I don't know what I'll be doing either!
ReplyDeleteI like your review format. But getting tired of it is no fun.
DeleteI like the idea of bullet points! Sometimes it's hard to get your thoughts together beyond 'I liked this, this, and this' or didn't like these things...now how to do I form that into something that makes sense? I hope it works for you!
ReplyDeleteExactly. I think bullet points will just make things easier.
DeleteI know what you mean. That's why I changed mine. I was bored with my old one. I hope this one helps. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteThanks. Me too.
DeleteDot points are a really good idea. I keep meaning to change my review format because really, I don't have one, but for some reason I keep getting stuck in a rut and doing the same thing over and over.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I should have changed it up awhile ago.
DeleteGreat idea, looking forward to seeing the new format! I always wonder whether to change mine but I have a feeling I wouldn't be able to stick to it.
ReplyDeleteYeah, it's going to be hard to get out of my, "good vs bad" way of doing it.
DeleteI like my bullet format, but sometimes I feel like it isn't very informative. My bullets sometimes turn out as random thoughts I had while reading.
ReplyDeleteYeah, and I'm afraid I'll be more spoiler-y. I'll see what happens.
DeleteI liked you're review style, but I totally understand changing it. My current bullet points style is the longest I've ever used one format for reviews, mostly because it's easy.
ReplyDeleteI would agree with Kami, they usually turn out random, but whatever. I do what I want! (And you should too!)
Thanks. I hope it works well.
DeleteBullet points make reviews nice and easy to read. I couldn't write reviews that way, but I like reading them. I'll be interested to see which format you like better.
ReplyDeleteYeah. I'll probably end up hating it. That would suck.
DeleteI like the bullet point reviews, but don't think I'd be able to pull it off. I need to change up my review style too, but have no idea what to do. Looking forward to seeing what you decide!
ReplyDeleteYeah. I probably won't pull it off but oh well.
DeleteSounds like a great plan. I have a format I use when my "normal" reviewing style just isn't happening on a book.
ReplyDeleteYeah. Some books just don't review easy, do they?
