First Sentence
This wasn't how a date was supposed to end.

This one was recommended to me and it sounded rather cute so I decided to give it a read.

And, well, it reminded me why I avoid romances. Now don't get me wrong, I like a good romance in a book but a ROMANCE book??? Not so much. And this book was the perfect example of WHY I don't like romance books.

They start out really cute. Girl meets boy, sparks fly, silly yet seemingly insurmountable issue pops up and then, well, it becomes one big, fat, cheesy, cliche.

There's just nothing new here. It's the same old story with the cute, naive girl and the handsome brooding guy.

And even the steamy scenes were lukewarm at best. Sigh. I was just unimpressed. This isn't my genre though, so don't take my review too seriously. Other people love Morgan's books.

  1. What I hate in romance books is when the couple 'breaks up' over something stupid that could be resolved in 30 seconds if they'd just have a conversation about it. Drives me crazy! :)

    1. That drives me nuts too! This one didn’t have that aspect but it was still annoying.

    1. Yeah. I think that’s where I heard about it. I really want to hear your thoughts. It’s a bit racy though.

  3. Romances aren't my favorite either. I think it's because there's just never enough going on for me and so many times the author has to try too hard to make up reasons for the couple NOT to get together that it just becomes tedious and silly.

Sorry this one didn't work for you. I've heard good things about the author.

  5. It does look cute, and sounds like a movie title too. Bummer this was totally unremarkable. I for the life of me don't know why they keep using such rehashed plots!

    1. Agreed. It would probably be a much better movie.

  6. Ugh that sounds like I would have the same reaction. I'm okay when some romances stray into cheesy IF it works with the storyline, but 99% of the time it's just too much.

  7. I don't mind a romance book but I just don't buy insta-love. Period.
