Let's Do This Thing!!! Read-aThon updates.
Hey, everyone! It's the Dewey's 24 hour Read-a-Thon! Like you didn't know. ;)
After a late start getting up, cause I LOVE to sleep, I've put only a measly 100 pages of Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson under my belt before I had to eat. So two yummy pieces of double fiber french toast with sugar free, metallic tasting syrup later, I'm going to read a bit more before my soccer game. I do need to vacuum my floors so that might get done too.
Update!!!
Well, here it is just after 3:00 and I managed to finish Speak. Yay for me! I did vacuum my floor and I exercised while I watched my soccer game. (they won!4-0) I've even showered...hmmm, maybe I'm missing the whole point of a read-a-thon. Oh well. I'm afraid I wasn't as prepared as I wanted to be so I have to make a quick trip to the store but then I shall be buckling down. I hope to finish at least one more book and start a few more.
Last Update!!!
Well, after a trip to the store for the makings of a pizza, I got back to reading. I meant to read a little from a few books but got totally wrapped up, and finished, The Sweet, Terrible, Glorious Year I Truly, Completely Lost It by Lisa Shanahan. I LOVED it and just had to finish it.
So...I finished two books and am planning on reading some more before I go to sleep, yep, sorry but it has to be done. I've got church early in the morning. I'm thinking I'll read some of Crave and get started on The Weight of Silence. I've had fun and even though I didn't read straight through. I'm kinda glad I didn't; I think those breaks helped me stay awake. ;) Happy reading!

100 pages isn't bad really. I'm getting distracted by kids, but I guess that's life around here.
ReplyDelete100 is better than what I've gotten through this weekend. Double fiber french toast...hmmmm
ReplyDeleteSleep & French toast sounds like great Sat!! 100 pages is a fine start! Good Luck with the Readathon!!
ReplyDeleteps as a cheerleader who had been to dozens of blogs ... so refreshing not to see a stack of 12 thick books as the Readathon update. Haha!

ReplyDeleteGood luck with your readings today! You can do it! :)
ReplyDeleteI am a horribly slow reader. I could never read 2 books in one day I don't think. I also have a hyper toddler bounding around too, but even left undisturbed I could probably only get through a little more than 1 book. You are doing great!
ReplyDeleteHappy reading! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm here to cheer! Keep up the good work.
ReplyDeleteHa! You put me to shame--8 pm here and still no shower. Eeeep! ;)
ReplyDeleteHope you're still having a great readathon.
I know you're tired
And losin' the fire
You'd rather be sleeping
But keep on reading!!
Rah Rah Rah!
Cheerleaders, Thanks! I needed a boost right about now, when the sandman comes knockin' ;)
ReplyDeleteI've just posted my last update for the night... but hope to keep reading a bit longer. I only read off and on too, and my book was much longer than I realized, so I've still not finished it. But I'm really liking it! I hope you enjoyed your first THON! :)
