February Wrap Up 2016

It's time for my February (Adult Literature Month) wrap up. I had fun but every time I do this I want to bathe in YA books after. Adult books can be heavy and actually love heavy books but I need to mix it up, you know? So this month I only managed four books. It would have been more but I started Life After Life by Kate Atkinson for book club thinking it would fit nicely into my Adult Literature Month and, well, that's about all it did. It took the whole rest of the month to slog through! Anywho, here are my reads for February.

Pines by Blake Crouch
Very mysterious and exciting. I couldn't put it down.

What Alice Forgot by Liane Moriarty
LOVED!

A Reliable Wife by Robert Goolrick
Um, Not sure why this one was a best seller. It was just weird.

Life After Life by Kate Atkinson
Long, slow, repetitive and BORING!

So there you have it. Favorite of the month was What Alice Forgot. Least favorite was...can you guess? Life After Life.

I hope you guys didn't get too bored reading my reviews this month. At least I posted a few discussion posts

And there was that whole BBAW thing. It was a fun month. The weather is getting warm, I've done some gardening already and I can't wait to delve into March. I'm hoping to get some series finished this year. If you want to know what I'll be reading in March, I'll be posting pictures on Instagram

  2. I wasn't bored at all with your posts. I had fun reading everything. Good job on getting through four books this month. Sorry Life After Life was so disappointing.

  3. Variety is the key for me. Too many YA books in a row makes me feel old and too many heavy adult books in a row makes me feel depressed. I have to mix it up.

  4. I like to mix it up too- I tried to read just romance this month but couldn't stick to it. Variety is the spice of life! I really want to read The Pines and What Alice Forgot!!

    1. At least adult books have variety. It's still a bit much.

  5. You did better than I did, as I only read one book last month! Sorry to hear that Life After Life was boring. Hate when that happens! I need to start using Instagram more, but think I need a better camera phone as my pictures don't always turn out the way I'd like. Or could just be me! ha! Glad to hear that you're getting some gardening done!

  7. I just went back to read your review of Life After Life. You'll be happy to know that not everyone in my book group loved it. I think we came out at about 75% love, 25% either meh or hate. We decided it was a "What if?" book not a book that was technically about anything at all but more of a "What if life is like a palimpsest and those flashes of deja vu that some people have are just glimpses of the same event happening in the past?" Having said that, everyone seemed to love the WWII bits the best and I loved the combination of humor, horror, and history. It was not for everyone, though, by any means.

    1. That is an interesting question. It was just to deep and yet boring for its own good.

  9. Sorry not all your books were awesome, but that's the way of things. I've only read one of Liane Moriarty's books and I definitely plan on reading more. She knows how to keep me guessing!
