Utah Festival of Books!

So, I won't go on and on about the few short hours I spent at this fun event because it would get rather boring, I'm afraid. I will tell you a little about my experience, though, pathetic as it was. First of all the weather here in Utah has been pathetically cold for way too long and then, suddenly, it's freakishly hot on the day of the festival. OK, not THAT hot but hot enough! I only went for a few short hours. I missed the whole David Archuleta thing, didn't go to any panels and only bought one book, but...I did get four books signed and actually chatted with the authors instead of standing there looking stupid like I usually do. Below is proof. Enjoy!

And there you have it. I was beaten by the heat and my sister who came with me and her baby who needed  fed. Ah well, I had fun and got some books signed.

  1. Too bad that the temperature decided to skyrocket on the day of the festival, but congrats on the four great signed books you did score :)

  2. Okay, so, I want to know more. What did you chat about? What did you learn from these authors? :) I'm hoping to have my post up by Wednesday. I have video to edit!!

  5. sigh, I'm laying here flat on my back with some nasty bug. I sometimes wish I lived where I could attend something like that without traveling for hours. I'd even tolerate the heat.

  6. TheBookGirl, Yeah, the heat kinda sucked but it was worth it.

Suey, Yeah, sorry, I talked to Ally about her coming to are book club and she said she thought I looked familiar. I talked to Kiersten about having not read her book yet but that I've been hearing good things and I talked to James about the same thing and he said well now I wouldn't have to wait too long for the third then he told me, never mind, not to read them all at once, I might get tired of the characters. LOL!

Dana, We've been lucky to have quite a lot of authors who live here so it's pretty easy for them to throw stuff like this together. Well, not easy, I'm sure it's hard work. Just lucky that there are so many authors here.

Cowboy mom, Sorry, you're sick. Don't worry, we'll bring all this stuff to Loa when we're old and rich. ;)

  7. I wanted to go, but I had way too much going on on Saturday. I was sad. I need to get my Paranormalcy signed by Kiersten White. I guess I'll have to wait for August when she's coming to TKE for Supernaturally.

  8. Jenni Elyse, Sorry you didn't get to come. I think they're doing it at UVU in September. I was glad to get my books signed.

  12. Kathy, Sorry you could make it. It was fun. Suey of It's All About Books is going to be posting about it soon and she'll be super detailed.

  13. I have no idea how I missed this post! The only book out of them that I've read is Matched but all the rest are ones I'm pretty excited about. I thought that there would be tons of these events in New York, but I haven't seen many. I'm glad you had fun, though!

  14. Kaye, Thankfully I've got Suey of It's All About Books informing and reminding me of all these events. Plus she even goes with me. How nice is that? Otherwise, I'd never go to anything.

I've heard good things about Paranormalacy so I'm excited for that one. And the Maze Runner series, argh, I've got to get to that.
