The Sunday Salon

And now a bunch of useless information you never wanted to know about me. ;-)

Outside my window: It's been raining off and all week and I absolutely adore summer thunder storms. One night I just turned off all the lights and sat with my cat by the open window and enjoyed the storm.

I am listening to: I downloaded a new song!!! OK, I'm a bit obsessive about having something new to listen to.

I am watching: I went and saw Super 8 on the 4th and it was awesome! I love movies that have you at the edge of your seat in suspense and then make you laugh right in the middle of it!

I am thinking: My families reunion is this weekend and I'm in charge (eeek!)  I just hope the whole thing goes OK.

I am grateful for: AC, I truly am!

I am reading: Divergent and am still working on Middlemarch. I finally put my foot down and am working on reading 50 pages a day of Middlemarch.

I am photographing: I went to  the gardens at Thanksgiving Point this week with my sister and her two boys and took some ridiculous picture. I'll share a few. If you live in Utah and have never been to this garden you should go. And if you're ever in Utah, you should go. It's so pretty!

Lilly pads in the koi pond. My favorite!

William and me. And isn't it pretty?!

William and me grinning cheesy grins inside a caterpillar.

I am listing: A to-do list for the reunion this weekend. Argh! Can you say stressed out?!

I am creating: Hmmm, nothing much.

Around the house: I had to take drastic measures but I've got the ants sort of under control and I've only seen one earwig in the house this week, so, that's something.

From the kitchen: I have a new recipe I want to try out but it's probably not going to happen until next week.

One of my favorite things: The above mentioned summer thunder storms. LOVE em!

The children this week: No kids, just my cat Buns and I'm praying she does OK while I'm gone this next weekend. Sigh! She tends to get very lonely and then mad and do naughty things when I leave her for too long.

Plans for the week: Get ready for, and go to the reunion. Wish me luck!

  1. One of my favorite childhood memories is sitting on the front porch with my mom watching a thunderstorm...Unfortunately, now thunderstorms are the source of anxiety around here as my dog is absolutely terrified of them :(

  2. TheBookGirl, I'm sorry, that's very stressful trying to accommodate a pet.

  3. Ooh, what a fun song. Our family reunion is coming up next month, but thankfully we own enough land where we can have everyone come up and camp out and it's such a blast. I love it! I hope you guys have lots of fun, too!

  6. Kaye, I'm glad you liked the song. We sort of have a huge place were everyone can go and just camp out so that's what we're doing...well, I got a hotel room. ;)

Tristan, I know, I need help!

Kathy, I'm liking it OK. I have some not-so-nice observations but I'll wait till the end to form a real opinion.

  7. I like the song! Fun! I'm anxious to see Super 8 too, when to fit it in? :) Thunderstorms are awesome! Good luck with the reunion. It will be great! (What's with the hotel room though?)

And I haven't even tried on Middlemarch yet! You are scaring me. Are you still up for Under the Dome? I am about ready to buy it right now! Along with Way of Kings which Ibeeeg has tempted me with! Bag Middlemarch I say! :) Maybe I can actually read them all....

  8. Suey, I'm a baby and need my own shower and a TV so I'm staying at a hotel. Pathetic I know.

Hey! If I have to read Middlemarch you do too! I'm ready whenever to read Under the Dome but we don't have to start quite yet if you don't want.

  9. Hope you have a great reunion! I want to go see Super 8, but I have mixed feelings about it. Some people said it was really good or really bad. So I dunno :S
I still need to get my hands on Divergent! Hope you're enjoying it :D
