7 "Interesting" Things About Me

Thanks to Kara from Flowers of Quiet Happiness for nominating me! I wanted to participate quite frankly so I had something to blog about. Guys, my blogging slump just won't go away. So anyway. The rules for this award are to post 7 interesting things about yourself and tag 10-15 other bloggers. Will you all hate me if I don't tag anyone but still participate? I hope not. Here goes.

1 On October 12th I'll have been married for 3 years. In that time, my husband has started his own business, we bought a house and remodeled it, bought two rental properties, got another kitty and tracked down my husband's birth mom (whom we visited in person this past weekend). If we'd had a kid I think I might have died from stress, yes?

2 I've been to England twice and would love to live there. I love it!

3 I have a library in my house that I remodeled the first of this year that has zero books in it. What? Then how is it a library, you ask? I don't know! It just is! It was meant to have bookshelves but due to buying a lovely couch and a chair to go in there before it was remodeled left me with zero room for my bookshelves.  Needless, to say, I still call it my library/reading room even if it doesn't have any books in it.

4 I live in Utah with "The Greatest Snow on Earth" And have never been nor do I desire to go skiing.

5 The house my husband and I bought was actually my mom's house. AKA the house I grew up in. So after a brief stint away where I lived in an apartment for awhile, I moved right back into the house I grew up in. So basically I've lived int the same house for 32 years. Can I just say, I'm really sick of the same old surroundings. Oh well.

6 I hate coconut but like Mounds bars. And I like them for the weirdest reason. You know in the movie Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory when Charlie finds the money and buys a candy bar with the last Golden Ticket in it? Well, before he gets that candy bar, he gets another one that he shoves down so fast you'd think he hadn't eaten in years. Anywho, that first candy bar looks like a Mounds bar and it looks so freaking good! Just thinking about him snarfing down that stupid candy bar makes me want a Mounds bar.

7  I'm a crazy neat freak. I clean my house once a week. Which isn't too bad but I'm one of those weirdos that moves all the furniture to vacuum and sweep. Like the stove and the fridge and couches etc.  I never thought that was weird until people told me it was. Oh well.

So, there you have it. Not too interesting but hey. Again, I'm not going to tag any one but please feel free to participate! I'd love to hear 7fun facts about you guys!

  1. Fun! I wish I was motivated to move furniture every time I cleaned. I bet some of the stuff in here has a cats worth of fur under it right now. But then it would a week later, too... lol

    1. Actually, the cat hair is half the reason I move the furniture...that, and the husband's talent of dropping crumbs just right so that they bounce right under the couch.

  2. Love these facts! I think it's cool that you still live in the same house you grew up in. My husband hates that I refer to my parents' house as "home," even though I haven't lived there in over 20 years, but it will never not be home, you know?

    1. Yeah, I guess it will always be home now. ;)

  3. I loved learning these things about you. Happy anniversary! I can't believe it's been three years already! And, when I get the cleaning but, I like to move things too. I just wish I got the cleaning bug more often, lol. PS--Your bookless library is lovely. I think it works great as a reading room. :)

    1. Thank you. I like being able to at least call it my reading room.

  4. I still think you can figure a way to add books to that library! And wow... three years! Crazy! I agree about England. Um... we should think of more banters so we can have something to blog about.... also... I'm trying to come up with interesting facts about me and it's not working.

    1. You have plenty of things that are interesting about you. You can do it! And, yes, we need to banter more. I know we have more to disagree about. ;)

  5. You have a special library room in your house?? That's so cool!! Even if it doesn't have any books in it, it's cool to have a separate space for reading. In my dream house, I'd love to have floor to ceiling book shelves with those rolling ladders and a second story of books but you can see all of them from the first floor. That would be wonderful!

    1. Right? I'd love the rolling ladders too! I'd totally do the whole Belle thing from Beauty and the Beast on it!

  6. Love your 7 interesting things! I used to ski when I was a teen-ager, but I no longer feel a need to throw myself down icy slopes on two thin boards strapped to my feet. :)

    1. Yes, I've never felt that need. I'm more of a, sit in front of the fire and sip hot chocolate kind of girl.

  7. So much to comment on here!! First of all, those three years have been busy! We just bought a house last fall and the renovations are going sooooo slow (including my dream library!). Maybe you need to come help me out!?

I could say more, but I will just close with I love coconut!! ;)

  8. Happy Anniversary!! I didn't know Guy was adopted. How did you find his birth mom? I need to know about this story!!!!

I have never been skiing either, and I don't really have a desire either.

I have complaints about Mounds and Almost Joys. I love them, but I want varieties. I want the dark chocolate on the Mounds, but the almonds from the Almond Joy. I love coconut.

I really want to see your remodeled house to get ideas for my house. I feel like our homes are similar. I'm very curious about the bookless library.

  9. Not possible to get mad at you. Nope. :) You've been to England TWICE? Man am I jealous! Also I could use a bit of your clean freak ways. I hate to clean and put it off until its a good thing I'm the only one who has to live with the dust...

And for the record, having the option of a library, whether there are books in it or no, is cool!
