In My Thoughts This Fine Day #2

It's time for some randomness again.

First, and of course the most exciting, the Euro Cup starts today! Woohoo! Let hours in front of the TV and checking my phone for scores every five minutes begin! I'm hoping Spain will keep the title but I'm OK with the Netherlands or Portugal winning too. Anyone but the German team and that dastardly Schweinsteiger!

Second: yesterday, June 7th, was Karl Urban's birthday. Who the heck is Karl Urban, you ask? Let me remind you.

He plays Dr. Leonard McCoy in the 2009 version of Star Trek and William Cooper in Red. Those are the ones you've probably heard of, anyway. He also played Eomer in The Lord Of The Rings movies.

Anywho, my sister has a massive crush on him so what did we do? Why, we celebrated of course! We watched Red and had some cheesecake in his honor. Don't believe me?

See?!  Don't ask about the number 5. It's all we had!

Here I am looking dubious about are celebration

and my sister trying to contain her excitement.

My sister's son was just excited we got real movie theater popcorn for the event.
Until next time.  Have a great weekend, everyone!

  3. So, do you know that when I make comments on your blog I can't see the first line I'm typing? It's very weird and leads to sentences like "I'm impressed by!" LOL. I just meant I'm impressed by what a good sister you are!

    1. Yeah, I know it's been doing that. I changed the font on my blog. Tell me if it does it again. Hopefully that fixed the problem.

I'm not THAT great of a sister. Any chance to eat movie theater popcorn and cheese cake and watch a movie with a marginally hot guy in it, is a chance I'll take. ;)

    1. It is the best isn't it? If only microwave popcorn could be that good.

  6. What fun! Karl Urban is a cutie. I've only seen him in Star Trek, but I looked up images of him at the time 'cause I was impressed. He did a good Dr. McCoy.

    1. I LOVED his Dr. McCoy. And I think he's pretty hot too. Just not as hot as my sister finds him. ;)

  7. Karl Urban is really cool! Great actor and I love all of his roles, especially his role in the Bourne Identity. That's when I first ever heard of him, probably because I hadn't heard his name when he was Eomer in LotR.

  8. Bhahahaha. You guys crack me up. If only because I do the exact same thing. Last year was Ben Barnes' 30th and I bought everyone at work cupcakes! Sounds like a great time was had regardless of the reason and real movie popcorn! Wow. Has your sister seen Predator vs Alien? Or is it Alien vs Predator? Anyway...I'm pretty sure Karl was in that too!

    1. Yet another thing we have in common. ;) My sister would never watch an alien movie, she's too chicken, but I don't think he's in that one. He's in Doom. Is that what you were thinking?

    2. D'oh! No I was thinking of Ghost Ship!

    3. Oh yeah, he is in that one. I need to watch it again.

  9. The Netherlands, really? :p I'm Dutch, but I'm ashamed of my team and I don't have any faith in them *ohhh, don't let anyone read this, before they cut of my head* It was such a waste of time :o they totally messed up!

  10. That is awesome that you celebrated his birthday! Sounds like something my friends would do. We don't need a reason to celebrate. In fact, last night, we had a Disney movie night. Did I mention we're all in our twenties? Yeah, we rock the dorkdom.

  11. Wow Jenny!! SO exciting!! I wish my weekend was filled with an awesome party and celebration like that one. And, even though I don't really follow football *hides* I am SO rooting for Spain too!! Last year, my family and I were actually in Madrid (Spain) when they won!! Talk about excitement and partying! Woot! Aaah... good times. :P

  12. Ha! I love that you guys celebrated Karl Urban's birthday. I love him! I don't have quite the crush on him that your sister does, though. Although, I may start celebrating Ewan's birthday now, lol. RED is one of my favorite movies! It's so awesome!!!

    1. No one has the crush on him that my sister does. ;) You SHOULD celebrate Ewan's birthday. Can I come?!

  13. LOL, now I'm not going to feel so bad about remembering when it's Josh Groban's birthday! I've yet to do a real celebration, but now, sheesh, I think I better!

  14. LOLOLOL! Love those pics of you and your sister! Random birthday celebrations are always fun! And yay for Netherlands! They are my team all the way! Portugal is my back up. After their first game I'm kind of worried about Holland...they had control of the ball for the majority of the game and still lost!! :(
