Follow Friday

Follow Friday is hosted by Parajunkee's View and Alison Can Read. Head on over and link up to join us.

Q: What hyped up book do you think was not worth all the talk?

I couldn't pass this one up!

Seriously, if I have to listen to one more person rave on and on about how wonderful this book is I'm going to shoot myself...or them. K, not really. It just irritates me that people like this one. What's to like? The egotistical "hero" who's always telling Jane how silly and naive she is and how she needs him in her life, all the while, why he's locked his other wife in the attic?! And, sure, at least Jane leaves him when she finds out but then she goes back! Totally unbelievable. It's like the author couldn't even think of a reason for Jane to go back so she had to come up with divine intervention! *rolls eyes* No thanks!

Q: Letter to Santa: Tell Santa what books you want for Christmas!

Hey everyone! Happy Friday.

Dear Santa,

Even though I'm obsessed with real paper books I'm sorta, kinda thinking I want and eReader. Even though I think eReader owners would be screwed in an apocalypse, I kinda like all the convenience of an eReader. I just don't know, Santa; I'll leave it in your capable hands.

Q: What superhero is your alter-ego?

Let's face it, if I fell into a vat of radioactive waste, was bitten my a radioactive spider, or was simply born with a genetic anomaly that gave me a super power I'm far too bad tempered to ever choose to be a superhero. I might try, but the truth is, I'd probably become some horrible super villain. Or...
...Hancock, before his rehabilitation of course.

Or worse, If I had telekinesis I'm afraid I'd end up really, REALLY fat. :( I'm just being realistic here.

Happy Friday!

Follow Friday

Q. Name 3 authors that you would love to sit down and spend an hour or a meal with just talking about either their books or get advice on writing from?

Well, now. This is quite hard. I have to choose just three?

Markus Zusak
I did have the amazing pleasure to meet him, but to actually sit down with him??? Well, hopefully after fifteen minutes, or so, I could finally muster the courage to actually talk to him.

Mary Shelley
I think Frankenstein was the first book I ever read that just moved me. Not to tears or laughter or romantic sighing, just deeply, profoundly moved me. Plus, she had the most interesting life. I'd love to just listen to her talk about it.

 J. K. Rowling
Yes, I know, but how could I resist? Who wouldn't want to meet this woman and talk Harry Potter? That is if she isn't so sick of it she could scream.

Follow Friday!

Follow Friday is hosted by Parajunkee's. It's a fun way to get to know other bloggers. Today's question:

Q. Let's step away from besties...What is the worst book that you've ever read and actually finished?

I just had to join today for this question. I loathe and will NEVER read again Jane Eyre.

Now, before you get out your torches and pitchforks let me explain. No book has ever made me so furious before. I hated it before I read it! I hate Rochester! I hate Jane's gullibleness and the whole story just drives me insane!

1 Really, really?! Jane would fall in love with, arrogant, selfish, lying, bossy, deceiving Rochester? Yeah, talk about daddy issues!

2 He was NOT forced to marry his "crazy" wife! He fell for her pretty face, married her for looks, and got what he deserved!

3 I'd go crazy too if my husband locked me in the attic and never let me out and then started flirting with, and engaging himself to, some homely governess!  I'd do worse than burn the house down!

4 After all that! Jane decides, oh well, so what, I guess I'll go back and marry the poor sop after all!

I could go on and on! If you want to get into a big argument...er...heated discussion about this one just let me know!
