Why, Hello There

A lot of you guys encouraged me to not give up on this blog and since I'm not quite ready to give up, I've decided to carry on. However, summers are just plain awful for me. I'm so busy I barely have time to read, let alone, blog.

Why am I so busy? Well, I think a lot of you know my husband and I own a few rental properties, right? Yeah, so in the winter I don't have to lift a finger at said properties unless something happens to go wrong, like a furnace going out (which two did this last winter) but that just requires a phone call to a repair company and a trip to the property to meet the repair man. Nothing too complicated. The summer, however, is a whole other story.  We do the yard work at our rentals so that means once a week we have to go mow lawns, make sure the sprinklers at one property are working and watering properly and make sure our tenants at the other property are keeping up with watering their lawns.

And now we have another property that we're remodeling right now...I swear this happens every summer...and on top of all that I have to keep up my own yard and house and, guys, I hate summers! I really do. They're hot and busy and all I want to do in lay by the pool and read but there's no time.

Thanks for listening to me rant. I have some book reviews to write but that might be all you see for awhile.

I hope everyone else is having a nice relaxing summer! See you on the other side!

  1. I can see why summer's not your favorite time of year. Maybe this one won't be as bad as it sounds. Fingers crossed for you! And I hope you manage to sneak in a few good reads here and there. :)

    1. Thanks. I'm glad to be sticking around. Productive would be great. Mowing lawns is redundant. :(

  4. Glad you are sticking around, I understand busy life but I have to say when I come back it is great to see some friendly faces you have connected with, like you Jenny.

  5. Yay! I'm glad you're not giving up on blogging. Honestly, you can just blog less for the time being until you have more time. There's nothing wrong with that. Everyone has a life outside their blog and if they didn't, they would need some professional help, lol.

Good luck with your rental properties this summer!

  6. Sorry summers are so busy for you. I hate how hot they are too. I hope the remodel on the new one goes quickly so you can have some down time. :)

  7. I loathe summers, hot weather and I do not agree. Yard work and I do not agree. So I feel ya. Hope it goes as smoothly as it can, and that time to read pops up now and then.

  8. Glad you decided to stick around, as I love visiting you. I can't stand summer because I pretty much hate the heat. Much prefer spring and fall as it's cooler, but not too cold. Guess I'm picky weather-wise! Good luck with all your rental upkeep! And I hope you get some pool time in there somewhere. :)

  9. I completely understand! I only posted one time in June over the last 5 years. This is the first year I'm really trying. I'm not being overly successful at it, but I am posting. Sometimes something just has to give and for me, it's usually the blog. I hope through it all you manage to find you some pool time. :)

  11. Goodness that sounds stressful! I completely understand setting blogging aside for the most part, though. I work 40 hours a week on my feet and when I get home I've had to take care of the house for a while (I'm currently the only one in the house so I have to do all the internal cleaning, external yard work, and weeding and picking produce in the garden). Needless to say, life has been busy. I hope you have a lovely summer and have some time to yourself to relax for a while :)

  12. Not a fan of summer, either, but mostly because of the heat and humidity. We can't even keep up with our own yard. I can't imagine dealing with several.
