July Wrap Up 2012

Well, this was the last month I'll actually have read more than like, oh, three books. Sigh, the draw backs of having a full time job. Anywho, on to the books I read this month.

Struck by Jennifer Bosworth
Um, just watch the book trailer and save your self the pain.

Vanish (Firelight 2) by Sophie Jordan
Stupid dependent female MCs!

Artemis Fowl (Artemis Fowl 1) by Eoin Colfer
A sophisticated MG? Who knew that was possible?

My Ridiculous Romantic Obsessions by Becca Wilhite
Ah, to relate to a book so well. Love!

Emma by Jane Austen
It's Austen, people! I can't complain too much but this one wasn't my favorite.

Circle Spinner And Other Tales by Elizabeth Baxter
Short stories done right!

Unbreak My Heart by Melissa Walker
A dual love story! Not sure I've ever read one of those before.

Tiger Lily by Jodi Lynn Anderson
Hmmm, slower and weirder than I thought.

Favorite of the month was My Ridiculous Romantic Obsessions. So good! Least favorite was Vanish. Ick!

  1. Bloody jobs keeping us from reading, grrr. Seems like you covered a range this month, slightly ashamed of my stats :P Congrats

  2. "Just watch the book trailer and save yourself the pain." That makes me both crack up and frown simultaneously (not pretty.) I wanted Struck to be awesome, but everywhere I go, I hear that it's not.

Congrats on the job once again. I know what it feels like to be out of work (the company my husband and I worked for filed bankruptcy and closed down all its locations two years ago.) I'm so thankful that he finally found work. While it's stressful to go from no work to full-time job, it's also a relief. So good luck!

    1. Yes it's a huge relief. Just sad I don't have as much time to read.

  3. Lol, watching the book trailer is great advice! I am definitely wary about reading that book now, I've seen a few negative reviews that have put me off. And I love Artemis Fowl! Such a great series. The last book was a bit of a let-down but I liked it overall :).

    1. I can't decide if I want to read the rest of the AF books. And if I do when?!

  4. I am so impressed by the amount of reading you and other bloggers get done every month! I think I average about 1 book per week, while some bloggers seem to devour one almost every day.

Your comment about watching the book trailer and skipping the book cracked me up!

    1. Yeah I have good and bad months. I know some bloggers that practically read a book a day! Now that's crazy!

  5. Jobs are both a blessing and a curse. And I love Artemis Fowl. :)

  6. I keep hearing really bad things about Struck so I guess that's one I'll pass on. Same for Tiger Lily and I had high hopes for it, too. I wonder if I'll like Artemis Fowl.

Too bad you can't read as much these days. Neither can I and it kind of stinks. Good luck with your new job. :)

    1. Yeah, I always hate when a book you thought you'd love is disappointing.

  8. I second Steph's comment. I love the title of My Ridiculous Romantic Obsessions, I can't wait to see what you think of it. I've heard a lot of good things about Tiger Lily and I want to read it but the fact that everyone says it's slow is a big turn off for me. I have a hard time with slow books.

    1. Yeah, Tiger Lily was slower than I thought it would be. More thoughts on that later, though. ;)
