May Wrap-Up 2018

For some reason I feel like I read a lot more in May then I really did. Seven books isn't bad but it felt like more. Sadly, there weren't any 5 star reads either. That's always a bummer. Oh well. May was eventful. My husband and I took a short vacation to our happy place; the Oregon coast and then less then two weeks later, spontaneously drove back for Memorial Day weekend.

How can this not be our happy place?! It's so beautiful! Anywho, I listened to two audiobooks on the drive which made it a tinsy bit more bearable but, dude, that's a LONG drive. Flying is much better. Here's my books.

Being Friends With Boys by Terra Elan McVoy, Leah on the Offbeat by Becky Allbertalli, Bitterblue by Kristin Cashore, Simon vs The Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Allbertalli, Finnikin of the Rock my Melina Marchetta, Young Jane Young by Gabrielle Zevin and Forbidden by Tabitha Suzuma.

Favorite of the month was Being Friends With Boys. Least favorite was Finnikin of the Rock.

May Wrap-up 2017

Well, Phooey! I read nine books in April but only managed five in May. I had a major reading blogging/slump. I almost, almost got on blogger and said goodbye and shut it down. But I was too lazy to do even that. thank goodness, because I'm just not ready to say goodbye. Anywho, I managed to catch up on reviews, thanks for putting up with the slew of reviews from me, and hope June will be a better reading month. I need pool time and reading time!

Sense and Sensibility Manga Classic by Jane Austen, Bright Smoke, Cold Fire by Rosamund Hodge, Frost Burned by Patricia Briggs, Forgotten, by Cat Patrick and Suicide Notes by Michael Thomas Ford.

Favorites of the month were Sense and Sensibility the Manga classic. It was fun! And Frost Burned by Patricia Briggs. Least favorite was Forgotten by Cat Patrick.

May Wrap Up

May has come and gone. For some reason I feel like I read, like, 1 book this past month but, as it turns out, I read 5. Go me! Although I'm still behind on my Goodreads goal. Sigh!

Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher, Burning Glass by Kathryn Purdie, Black Eyed Susans by Julia Heaberlin, Spirit Bound (Vampire Academy #5) by Richelle Mead and Last Sacrifice (Vampire Academy #6) by Richelle Mead

Favorites of the month.
Loved that I finally finished this series and I'm glad because all my other reads this month were mediocre but these were great!

Least favorite.
I had such high hopes for this one but it was just too slow and the ending irked me.

So, there you have it.

Plans for June include reading The Raven Cycle by Maggie Stiefvater and I Am Malala for book club. Oh, and finish replacing our fence.

May Wrapup

May started out great for me in the reading area but the second half of the month...not so much. Oh well, here they are.

Cress by Marissa Meyer
Much better than Scarlet. Kick ass action continues. Can't wait to see how it all ends.

Lost Lake by Sarah Addison Allen
Warm fuzzy inducing wonderfulness.

Dune by Frank Herbert
The read along was better than the book.

Elevated by Elana Johnson
Hated the whole thing until the end....Then I LOVED it.

Waiting For Normal by Leslie Connor
Very fast read but not very realistic. (review to come)

See? Five books isn't bad for me lately. Considering I read four of them at the beginning of the month. Too bad I couldn't keep the momentum going.

Favorites of the month were Cress, Elevated and Lost Lake. No Least Favorites this month. Dune and Waiting for Normal were not bad books just not my favorite.

Plans for June
Finish reading The Marbury Lens. This book is the book that lost my momentum. It's a tough read and I'm still wading through it. June is my birthday month so I'm looking forward to that! I also plan on getting a few more things done on the yard. Happy Reading everyone!

May Wrapup

Grrrr! Not the greatest of reading months but here's how it went.

That Summer by Sara Dessen
I just didn't get the protagonist's big freaking deal with being tall.

Heist Society by Ally Carter
I enjoyed the heist but missed getting to care and feel for the characters.

Garden Spells by Sarah Addison Allen
Fun, fast read filled with magic and quirky characters.

Sean Griswold's Head by Lindsey Leavitt
Well, a new character crush was developed in this one.

The Goddess Test by Aimee Carter
Fun story based on mythology

Forever by Pete Hamill
Oh, Gag! What a nightmare this one was!

A Wizard of Earthsea by Ursula K Le Guin
Pleasantly surprised with this one.

The Summer I Turned Pretty by Jenny Han
Tolerate the annoying protagonist and you'll enjoy a light summer read.

So, My Favorite of the month would have to be, Sean Griswold's Head, just cause Sean was so great! My least Favorite was definitely, Forever, in fact, it might be my least favorite of the year! So what did you read this month?
