Adults Only!

LOL! I love saying "adult books" It makes it sound like books that belong behind a beaded curtain. ;) Anywho, as much as I love YA books, I've been spending a great deal of time looking at all the adult books I have on my shelves that keep getting ignored. So, for some time now, I've been planning on having a month where I only read adult books. After all, I have about 213 adult fiction books and there's 84 I haven't read yet. That's not horrible but that number is never going to get smaller unless I read some, right?

So, I'm deeming February adult books only month! Here's some of the books I've chosen for the month. Mind you these are subject to change depending on my mood.

I think my kitty approves. I hope to get Midnight in Austenland that just came out today (whoohoo!) and read it too.

I hope you guys out there usually stick with YA books will still read my reviews this month. I'd hate to lose your attention cause I'm a bit of an attention whore. ;)  And, hey, maybe you could join me. Don't you have some adult books that keep getting set aside for YA? Sure you do, how's about giving them some love.

    1. Yes, especially Atonement. I keep eyeing it warily from across the room.

  2. I think we can handle your foray into "adulthood". ;) (You realize, don't you, you're going to get alot of porn hits with your title! It's true! I've noticed it on my site whenever I have a semi-risque sounding title.)

    1. Oh, dear! I hope not. But maybe some porn junkie will stumble onto my sight and pick up a book instead. ;)

  3. There are a few adult books I need to read. I've got three on the list to read for challenges this year. I like reading reviews for many types of books, so I'll definitely be checking out the ones you do this coming month. :)

  4. Humph. I was expecting something rather more dramatic... *waggles eyebrows*

Looks like a great stack of books! I love how diverse your reading choices are; you're very well-rounded.

  5. Haha great idea! I've actually been trying to read more adult books again recently. I read 2 in January, which is a start. Good luck on your voyage into adult seas, I'll be looking forward to your reviews of Room and Atonement *salutes*

    1. I'm very, very worried about Atonement. We're reading it for book club so I'll read it but I HATED the movie.

  6. I'll keep reading your blog with the adult book reviews. I'll be excited to see if any of them do belong behind a beaded curtain. Scandal! ;)

    1. Hmmm, I doubt the ones I chose would...well maybe Atonement or Dexter. ;)

  7. Awesome! YA is great, but sometimes you just need something for grown-ups.

Over at my blog I tag books with a lot of violence, gore, or themes not for kids with the phrase "adult content," but that always makes me feel like my readers will see that and think, "She's tagged a lot of stuff with 'adult content.' Is she reading porn?" :p

    1. LOL! Yeah, it's some times safer just to stick with YA...some YA, anyway. I definitely need a break from it, though, and I don't think any of my "adult" books are going to be too risque. Darn! ;)

  8. Hahaha - you are so funny! I can't wait to read the reviews.

  9. I am totally boycotting this blog for a month! LOL. Just kidding. I have just discovered the joys of adult books too and funnily enough, I was telling someone else the other week about how I should only read adult books for a while. I know I keep mentioning it but, wanna try the Kate Daniels series? :P

    1. Yeah, I keep feeling like all I read myself and see on other people's blogs is YA so I forget that people do read adult books still.

    1. That's what I hear but I hated the movies so I'm very skeptical.

  13. I'm totally in. I think I've kind of hit a wall with some of my YA lately. I started writing my review of PARANORMALCY yesterday, and it totally turned into a rant. Full on angry rant. So maybe I just need to play with the big kids for a while. I *may* start ATONEMENT today.

    1. Oh, I would have LOVED to read your rant...er review. ;) Especially because everyone loves that book. I'm curious what you didn't like. We shall have to discuss.
