July Wrap-Up 2018

July, as I've mentioned before, is NOT my favorite month. It's just too hot! Even with a pool it's unbearable. And it seems to go on and on! Am I right? Anywho, I'm glad Dewy's 24 Hour Readathon decided to do a reverse reathathon. It was nice having something to look forward to and it really upped my reading numbers. I read 4 books for the readathon bringing my books read in July up to 11. I'm so close to reaching my Goodreads goal for the year and I still have so many months to go! Wahoo! Here's what I read.

Wishtree by Christine Applegate, The Undomestic Goddess by Sophie Kinsella, Bird Box by Josh Malerman, All We Ever Wanted by Emily Giffin, Startled By His Furry Shorts by Louise Rennison, Ship Out Of Luck by Neal Shusterman, A Grown Up Kind Of Pretty by Joshilyn Jackson, Our Souls At Night by Kent Haruf, The Shadow Cipher by Laura Ruby, Kristy's Great Idea by Raina Telgemeier and Wires and Nerve by Marissa Meyer.

Phew! Favorite was Bird Box for sure. You must go read this book! Least favorite was Our Souls at Night and All We Ever Wanted but even those were two star reads.

  1. I hate summer. PERIOD. Even with a/c and a pool, it's just too darn hot and, you're right, it goes on FOREVER. Especially here in Arizona. At least you'll start getting cooler temps soon!

Congrats on rocking your GR reading goal. I'm 22 books behind on mine. LOL.

    1. Thanks. I’m proud of myself. I don’t know how you do Arizona. The only thing that gets me through summer is the promise of a cold winter.

  2. I haven't read any of these, but they seem interesting. August is usually the hottest month here in Texas. And my sons birthday is in August. Ugh.
Yay for being close to reaching GR goal!

    1. August is miserable too. I can’t even imagine how it is there.

  3. I like July just as much as I like the other summer months - I don't. Awesome job with the GR challenge. It's nice to succeed at things. I am not into horror, but I love your enthusiasm for Bird Box.

  6. I love Marissa Meyer! How was Wires and Nerve? I think that might be the only one I haven't read yet. Congrats on reading so many books this month! :)

  10. Yeah, summer and I have never been friends. And, no pool, here - not even a city pool in our town. You had a fabulous reading month, though, heat and all. Mine was around the same but only because I slipped a few children's books in. They always bump up the numbers.

    1. Sadly, I rarely read children’s books and if I do I forget to count them.

  11. Even though you don't like July, you read a lot! Congrats! I'm almost done with my Goodreads goal too!

  12. Looks like you read a good amount of books in July! It is incredibly hot where I live today - holy moly! Might have to stay inside this weekend (which isn't very easy with a very active and outside-addicted toddler). It's soooo hot. Hope August isn't as hot for you as July!
