July Wrap-Up 2018

July, as I've mentioned before, is NOT my favorite month. It's just too hot! Even with a pool it's unbearable. And it seems to go on and on! Am I right? Anywho, I'm glad Dewy's 24 Hour Readathon decided to do a reverse reathathon. It was nice having something to look forward to and it really upped my reading numbers. I read 4 books for the readathon bringing my books read in July up to 11. I'm so close to reaching my Goodreads goal for the year and I still have so many months to go! Wahoo! Here's what I read.

Wishtree by Christine Applegate, The Undomestic Goddess by Sophie Kinsella, Bird Box by Josh Malerman, All We Ever Wanted by Emily Giffin, Startled By His Furry Shorts by Louise Rennison, Ship Out Of Luck by Neal Shusterman, A Grown Up Kind Of Pretty by Joshilyn Jackson, Our Souls At Night by Kent Haruf, The Shadow Cipher by Laura Ruby, Kristy's Great Idea by Raina Telgemeier and Wires and Nerve by Marissa Meyer.

Phew! Favorite was Bird Box for sure. You must go read this book! Least favorite was Our Souls at Night and All We Ever Wanted but even those were two star reads.

July Wrap-Up 2017

YAY!!! July is over! Sorry, but I really hate July! Actually this year it went pretty fast but it was still stagnant and hot and miserable. That, and all the craziness in my life with remodeling resulted in me reading only 4 books. But guess what? The remodel is done!!!! My life should calm down just a tiny bit now. Fingers crossed.

A Merciful Truth by Kendra Elliot, The Winner's Crime by Marie Rutkoski, The Paper Magician by Charlie N Holmberg and Attachments by Rainbow Rowell.

Guys, my favorite book this month was Attachments. I have disliked every other book of Rowell's so I was so skeptical but I absolutely adored this book! I'm in love with Lincoln now and had a major book hangover when it ended. Sigh! Least favorite was A Merciful Truth which I received for free for an honest review so I feel a bit bad. Oh well.

July Wrap Up

Can I just say, thank goodness July is over! My book blogging buddy Suey mentioned on Twitter that while most people get the drolls in January through March she gets them during July. I totally agree. It's so damned hot that I can't bear going outside. Not even to lay in my pool. Yard work needs done every five seconds but the heat makes it pure misery. So, anywho, good riddance July is over!

You'd think with being cooped up in the house all day I'd be reading like crazy. And while I did read a few more books than usual this month, I still only managed to read six books this month and DNF another.

 The Wedding Night by Sophie Kinsella, Blue Lily, Lily Blue by Maggie Stiefvater, Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell, The Raven King by Maggie Stiefvater, Black Rabbit Hall by Eve Chase, I Heart You, You Haunt Me by Lisa Schroeder

One Dead Spy, a graphic novel by Nathan Hale, was August's book club pick. I tried to read it and only got half way through. It's just to immature and boring for me. I chose to DNF it.



Sadly, like all other sucky things in July, Blue Lily, Lily Blue and Black Rabbit Hall were 3 star books but the rest only got 2 stars from me. It wasn't a great reading month. Sigh! Like I said, thank goodness July is over. I really hate it.

A surprising treat. though, whether it makes sense to a non LDS person is yet to be seen.

Warprize by Elizabeth Vaughn
A fast paced adventure with some fun, steamy, not too risque romance.

Favorites of the month...Tattoo, Back When You Were Easier to Love, I Don't Want to Kill You, and Warprize. Least favorite...Divergent. And the book voted most likely to be burned in a fit of rage...Ripple.
