Shelving Saturday is a fun new meme hosted by Eastern Sunset Reads that deals with, you guessed it, our shelving dilemmas. It's a fun way to see and hear about other bloggers book shelves that I personally love! This weeks question:
What do you do with all your special books; your ARCs or signed books?
Well, unfortunately I don't have any ARCs. :( I'm still new to the blogging thing and haven't quite figured out the best way to get any. I do have quite a few signed books, however and as you may know about me by now, I'm not horribly organized when it comes to my books shelves. So, of course, they're just shoved in there with the rest of my books. I should organize them though because sometimes I forget they're signed and I don't want to lend out my signed ones in fear that they'll get destroyed.
These are the books I have signed. See, now that I have them all off out I should just clear a shelf just for them. Ah, now I'm thinking! So, what books do you have signed. How many ARCs do you have? And do you have a nice shelf just for them? I'd love to know, so go on over and link up so you can join us.
I think you have a perfect shelving system. I use the same one. btw Goodreads is a good source for ARC's. Go to their giveaways page.
ReplyDeleteDana, Yeah, chaos is perfection. ;) I've tried the Goodreads giveaways but I'm horribly unlucky, I never win.
ReplyDeleteI have most of my signed ones sort of together, since they are mostly local authors and I tend to group them together... sort of.
ReplyDeleteI have also (sort of) a shelf for ARCs, but mostly they are all over the place too! As for how many ARCs, I thought about counting them once, just to put a monetary value on blogging out of curiosity... and I couldn't really pin down a number.. 50 or so I'm guessing. Which is what some bloggers get in a month, so it's not really that much, but still, it made me feel "worth it" I suppose.
I think I'd just throw all of my books together regardless of their type (signed, ARCs) but then overall they'd be organised by author and then sub-organised by series.
ReplyDeleteNo physical ARCs at the moment, but I have some coming. Most of my ARCs are eARCs from Net Galley.
Suey, That's still an impressive number. I'd love to have even one!
ReplyDeleteKaye, Yeah, my books are all over the place. I can't read on the computer or an eReader, they give me a massive headache. Just being on the computer too long gives me a headache. Sigh!
I try to limit the amount of reading I do on the computer or my Kindle for the same reason. It's slightly better on the Kindle due to there being much less glare (and portability!) but...it's still not the same.
ReplyDeleteI'm not paper reader for nothing, hee. :)
Kaye, LOL, yeah I should have guessed you prefer "real" books. ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you were able to join me this week for shelving saturday!
ReplyDeleteWow you have a lot of signed books! Have you met all of those authors?! I am sure you will get some ARCs soon. My own all came from online auctions and the book exchanges (like at the dentist office) though I do enter the goodreads giveaways a ton!
Ang, Yes, I've met them all and even chatted to a few. I was so star struck when I met Markus Zusak I froze, but he was so nice and so awesome. Definitely the best bookish moment I've ever had!
