Outside my window: It's Beautiful! I think summer is finally here.
I am listening to: I downloaded some new songs this week by ADELE, Earlimart and Fauxliage.
I am watching: I went and saw the new Xmen movie on Friday for my b-day. They took a few liberties, and yes, I'm nerdy enough to know, but it was a lot of fun and I loved, loved James McAvoy as Charles Xavier\professor X!
I am thinking: I need to finish the book I'm reading so I can get to some fun ones.
I am grateful for: The delicious, drool inducing chocolate chocolate chip bunt cake dripping with ganache that my sister is making me this evening for a late birthday celebration.
I am reading: Mermaid, a retelling of The Little Mermaid. Meh, I'm struggling through it.
I am photographing: A few pictures for my blog lately but not much.
I am listing: Nothing.
I am creating: Nothing. I know, I know. Boring!
Around the house: It's either time for a new bookshelf or I need to stop buying books....LOL! Yeah, right!
From the kitchen: Urgh, I'm still trying to decide what to do for dinner. Not fun!
One of my favorite things: Borders coupons and Borders Bucks! It saves me so much money.
The children this week: No kids, just my cat Buns and she seems a little depressed lately. Sigh, maybe I should invest in a pet therapist. Kidding.
Plans for the week: I've got to go to the dentist. :'(
Thanks to Ibeeeg of Polishing Mud Balls for the inspiration for this post's layout.
Did you get my b-day card? Think the cake will help?
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to keep kids bookshelves neat--at least books on shelves. But we are reading to them.
I'm voting for the new shelves. IKEA... you can do it! :)
ReplyDeleteNice song. I like. And I agree with the James McAvoy thing for sure. He was awesome.
Have fun with that cake... and EAT IT too!

ReplyDeleteI saw X-men: First Class last week, walking in with low expectations and walking out completely sold on everything. My favourite character was Mystique. I never, in a million years, would have thought anything would make my empathise with her. What a surprise! (I can't agree with her choice, but I understand her better--and that makes a difference.)
Techno Grandma, I hope the cake helps! Yes, I got the card. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteSuey, I'm so tempted to do the Ikea thing! I'm glad you liked the song, it's my favorite of the ones I downloaded.
Enbrethiliel, I'm glad you liked it. I didn't have any expectations and that usually helps me enjoy it more. Since I'm such a geek, and know Mystique's back story, I've never really liked her but this movie made her more sympathetic.
Happy Birthday!! I hope you have a great celebration tonight. It'll make up for the whole dentist thing next week (yuck). Keep smilin'
ReplyDeleteMy hubby and I saw X-Men: First Class on Friday. It was fantastic! And, like you said, although there were liberties, it was still really good. And, I absolutely loved James McAvoy! I also loved Hugh Jackman and Rebecca Romijn's cameos.
ReplyDeletePS--Happy birthday! :) I'm glad you had a fun time seeing X-Men. And, I hope you have a wonderful celebration tonight. :)
ReplyDeleteDana, Thanks, I'm sure the cake will help. ;)
ReplyDeleteJenni Elyse, I'm so glad you too know the liberties they took. ;) I loved the cameos too. I laughed so hard at Wolverine's part.
I love Adele and I'm dying to see X-Men!
ReplyDeleteShelley, Yay! I'm glad you like Adele too. My favorite is Set Fire to the Rain. X-men was great!
ReplyDeleteA belated happy birthday!
ReplyDeleteI want to see X-Men! I just saw an interview with James McAvoy. His Scottish accent is so cute! But I don't think it's noticeable in the movie.
I have such a crush on that one guy, from Becoming Jane, and so I really want to see x-men. And thanks for reading the Mermaid book first. I'm going to pass on that one now. :)
ReplyDeleteSelina, I know, I love his accent and I think I've only seen two movies where he actually has it. Sigh!
ReplyDeleteSarah, Yes, I have a bit of a crush...well at least I'm fascinated by him as well. Yeah, the Mermaid books was...Meh.
I saw Xmen opening week and loved it! I'm not too familiar with the comics so I didn't really notice the liberties they may have taken but it really made me think of Magneto in a whole new light! The casting was perfect! :)
ReplyDeleteNatalie, I think they did a good job with the casting too. I've always had sympathy for Magneto but that's just cause I'm a nerd and know his back story.
ReplyDeleteI can't help but love McAvoy :) Especially since Penelope.
ReplyDeleteJanssen, I love Penelope! Such a great movie and I think that's when I fell for McAvoy too. Hmmm, makes me want to watch it again.
